In the midsummer of July, a host of industrial grand events converge in Shanghai. Liaoning Xinda Talc Group will participate in events on two fronts: delivering keynote speeches at an industrial summit first, then meeting merchants face-to-face at a large-scale exhibition, to explore promising development opportunities with upstream and downstream partners across the coatings industry.

To enthusiastically celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and vigorously advance the cultural welfare initiative—bringing high-quality cultural resources directly to the grassroots—a themed cultural performance titled “Showcasing the Splendor of Labor, Honoring the Party’s Birthday,” jointly organized by the Haicheng Municipal Federation of Trade Unions (host), the Haicheng Municipal Workers’ Cultural Palace (organizer), and Liaoning Xinda Talc Group Co., Ltd. (co-organizer), was successfully held on June 26 at the headquarters of Liaoning Xinda Talc Group. 

In the previous two issues, we clarified the mineral mechanism of talc abrasion and the quantitative relationship between grade and abrasion value. This issue focuses on the production side, analyzing the specific damage caused by high-abrasion talc to forming fabrics, paper cutting knives and refining equipment. Combined with research findings, a full set of engineering suggestions on talc selection, quality control and production optimization are put forward.

In the previous chapter, we analyzed that magnesite impurities are the fundamental cause of abrasion generated by talc from the perspectives of mineral structure, hardness and paragenetic characteristics. In this chapter, combined with measured data from Liaoning Xinda Talc Group, we quantitatively analyze the variation law of abrasion value of talc powder with different grades, and unpack the structure-activity relationship among the three factors: talc content, magnesite proportion and abrasion value.

Talc powder is a core functional filler in the papermaking industry, widely applied in cultural paper, packaging paper and specialty paper, normally accounting for 10% to 30% of the paper’s dry weight. As the operating speed of modern paper machines exceeds 1500 meters per minute and papermaking equipment becomes increasingly sophisticated, the abrasion characteristic of fillers has become a critical factor affecting paper machine operational stability, equipment service life and production costs.

To strengthen safety oversight and improve managers’ emergency handling competence amid the 25th National Work Safety Month, Liaoning Xinda Talc Group hosted the targeted fire safety training led by Instructor Ma on June 3. The training focused on fire safety characteristics of industrial and powder-production plants, targeting core enterprise risks covering raw material stacking, electricity usage for workshop equipment, fire prevention in office and production areas, and inspection of flammable and explosive hidden dangers.

The papermaking process is the core procedure of converting pulp obtained from the pulping stage into finished paper on paper machines, mainly including web forming, press dewatering, drying, calendering and other processes. 

Talc Lays the Foundation; Specialty Paper Looks to the Future! From May 20–22, the 2026 Seminar on Industry Information and Market Trends for Specialty Paper was grandly held—and successfully concluded—in Haicheng, Liaoning Province, hailed as the “Talc Capital of China.”
